Pantonic Steel Orchestra
Set to 4-peat at the

2004 edition of
New York's Panorama Competition

 

New York - August 18th, 2004

Pantonic Steel Orchestra, the reigning New York Panorama champion will defend its crown on the night of September 4, 2004.  The annual competition will be held at the Brooklyn Museum grounds at 8:00pm.  Pantonic will take the stage at position one to defend its crown against twelve other contenders.

The world famous organization goes into the event as a favorite, having won the competition three times in a row.  Pantonic routinely attracts the players and fans from every section of the globe who participate, or witness its panorama performance.  The panorama is a major part of the special events held over the three-day weekend celebration that attracts close to 4 million people yearly.

The four-time New York Panorama Champions expect to continue their winning ways.  Their tune of choice is the popular soca hit "Bonnie and Clyde" (aka "Celebrate") by Destra Garcia.  The orchestra is led by Captain Keith Roberts.  Band Arranger is the master himself - Clive Bradley.  Pantonic is one of the largest and best steel orchestras in the world.

The orchestra is located at 1021 East 48th St., between Farragut Road and the "dead end."   Practices are open to the public.  Rehearsals typically go late into wee hours of the morning as the musicians prepare for this event. The public is encouraged to visit the band's panyard practices to experience a complete panorama adventure.
